Amazon Alexa coming to Toyota Vehicles

January 31st, 2018 by

There is big news from the Toyota brand that was announced at the recently-concluded 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV: Amazon Alexa, the world’s premier intelligent cloud-based voice service, is coming to Toyota vehicles. Select 2018 Toyota automobiles equipped with the Toyota Entune™ 3.0 App Suite will be the first models to integrate Amazon Alexa into their infotainment platform, with additional models slated for integration in 2019.

Toyota Entune, featured on a range of vehicles including the Toyota Highlander, is one of the auto industry’s top technology offerings – and with Amazon Alexa on-board, Entune’s capabilities factor increases ten-fold. Just as Alexa supports homeowners worldwide with countless questions, requests, and scheduling needs, so too will Alexa bolster every Toyota owner’s experience. Via Alexa, Toyota drivers can control their smart home from the road, get news, create a shopping list, ask for directions, customize their in-car entertainment preferences, and much more. Moreover, Alexa connects with more than 1,000 third-party smart home products, offering Toyota owners in Peachtree City, GA and Carrolton, GA unparalleled convenience.

Amazon’s far-reaching goal for Alexa is to have the service available wherever a customer needs her – at home, in the office, on phones, and now, on the road in a Toyota vehicle. Toyota Motor North America understands the growing popularity of voice services in many Americans’ lifestyles, and credit goes to the Toyota Connected division for identifying Amazon Alexa as the perfect partner in the Toyota brand’s continued quest for next-generation driving and driver support.
