Toyota Makes Announcement at Detroit Auto Show
With the North American International Auto Show behind us, it’s time to look at the incredible news from the show—the Toyota Supra. For younger generations, you may not remember this famed car that was last produced in 1998. However, for CEO Akio Toyoda, bringing back the Toyota Supra was a long-awaited pet project. Our experienced sales team at Toyota of Newnan can’t wait to welcome the latest version at our car dealership in Newnan, GA.
At the Detroit Auto show, Toyota’s CEO was on hand to talk about the new Toyota Supra. While it’s possible that Toyota intended to appeal to the Gen X crowd, quite a few millennials remember the car from the Fast and Furious film. With three trim levels, 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and Launch Edition, car shoppers can customize the Supra to their unique taste. It’ll come in a variety of colors, such as Renaissance Red 2.0 and Nocturnal Black, and feature a range of options.
Performance wise, a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine that packs a whopping 355 horsepower comes equipped, complete with an eight-speed automatic transmission. If you’re looking for a thrilling ride, you’ll appreciate the Toyota going from 0 to 60 mph in only 4.1 seconds. MotorTrend reported that “the Supra steel rear fenders should have the deepest draw” for a Toyota vehicle. This two-door sports car will rival the competition, and no doubt, plenty of people are looking forward to its arrival.
